My Chemical Romance sells out Night 2 of 5 at the Kia Forum

With 5 sold out dates at the Inglewood ‘Kia Forum’, My Chemical Romance returns to their rightful place as the leaders in emo-angst music. With a legacy of 4 studio albums, 3 platinum album singles, and a massive fan base its no surprise that after a nearly decade hiatus the ‘My Chemical Romance Reunion’ tour sold out nearly nationwide.

With handpicked opening acts that varied each night, Night 2 of the 5 date run fans were introduced to, ‘Dilly Dally’, “Shannon and the Clams’, and Los Angeles based rock band ‘The Regrettes’. After a great set from the 3 opening bands, fans being to get anxious in anticipation. The energy from the 14,000 fans filling the seats was palpable as the masses chanted, ‘MCR’ while the stage crew prepped the stage for the performance.

Gerard Way hit the stage sporting a red and white sheep printed sweater which later proved to be too hot of an outfit with Gerard stating, “this sweater is really hot, but I like to commit to a look’. However that commitment was short lived as Gerard stripped down to a white collard undershirt right before launching into, ‘Thank You for the Venom’.

With fans smashed against the barrier and singing along to every word, Gerard lead the night with classic songs including, “Im’ Not Okay (I Promise)’, ‘Helena’, ‘The Black Parade’, ‘Teenagers’, and ‘Mama’ which was dedicated to Gerard Way and Mikey’s mothers. The band also covered Bob Dylan’s ‘Desolation Row’ and ended the night with ‘Demolition Lovers’.

The band concludes their North American tour at the inaugural “When We Were Young Fest’.
