mgk Drops “starman” Music Video Built for the Arena

GRAMMY®-nominated artist Machine Gun Kelly has released the official music video for “starman,” a fan-favorite from his 2025 album lost americana — and the visual leans fully into the scale of his current arena era.

Directed by Sam Cahill, the video centers around the towering Statue of Liberty stage set that anchors mgk’s ongoing lost americana tour. Rather than separating the song from its live identity, the visual embraces it. Sweeping shots of the massive production are layered with high-energy performance footage, capturing the atmosphere of the arena experience — flashing lights, crowd chants, and the communal intensity that has made “starman” a standout in the setlist.

On record, “starman” blends pop-punk urgency with new wave shimmer and arena-sized hooks. In video form, that energy is amplified. The live clips showcase mgk commanding the stage, while the dramatic backdrop reinforces the larger-than-life tone of the track. The result feels less like a traditional narrative music video and more like a cinematic extension of the tour itself.

The song was written and produced alongside longtime collaborator Travis Barker, who also performs drums on the track, along with SlimXX, BazeXX, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child.

With the lost americana tour continuing through Europe before returning to North America in May, the “starman” video doubles as both a celebration of the album’s momentum and a visual snapshot of mgk’s current live chapter.
