Ángela Leiva Makes History at Buenos Aires Movistar Arena
There was not a single empty seat inside Buenos Aires’ Movistar Arena when popular music singer Ángela Leiva stepped onto the stage wearing a fitted orange dress, flawless makeup, the signature long black hair that has become part of her image, and a powerful voice capable of cutting through the crowd, conveying every emotion, and keeping thousands dancing amid screams of excitement.
This venue has welcomed some of the biggest names in global music, including Ricky Martin, Chayanne, Michael Bublé, Norah Jones, Liam Gallagher, and Louis Tomlinson. On this occasion, however, it was packed with fans celebrating one of their own.
For two hours, the celebration never slowed down. Ángela reaffirmed her status as one of the most prominent voices in her genre, performing “Gato,” “Mi Eterno Rencor,” “Amor Secreto,” and “Esa Idiota,” alongside many other tracks from both her own catalog and fellow artists. Among the evening’s highlights was a special segment dedicated to the legendary Argentine cumbia singer Gilda.
As the show approached its final stretch, El Chino, lead singer of the cuarteto band Q’ Lokura, surprised the audience by joining Ángela onstage to perform “Amor de Mierda,” “Qué Quieres de Mí,” and “Yo Era,” before making way for another unexpected guest appearance from cuarteto star Euge Quevedo, with whom Ángela sang “No Podrás.”
During their performance together, Ángela also premiered “Enemigas,” the duet she recently recorded with Euge. The song immediately had the entire arena dancing, eager to hear more from the powerhouse vocalists.
Born in Tandil, Buenos Aires Province, Ángela Leiva discovered her path through music at a young age. Long before becoming one of the most recognizable voices in Argentine tropical music, she performed at local festivals, neighborhood events, and small venues alongside her first band, Angie y Los Fieles, refining a stage presence that has now fully come into its own.
