Fun from the very beginning, yet carrying an aura of darkness hidden beneath an almost childlike sound, “Run Rabbit” is the new single from singer-songwriter Mollie Elizabeth, who returns with a deeply personal track inspired by her own life experiences.
“Run Rabbit” opens with an intense piano melody and the unmistakable voice of its creator, blending the signature pop and dream pop elements that set her apart in the alternative pop scene.
Mollie said about the song, “‘Run Rabbit,’ while a very whimsical song, is actually a darker look into what it was like growing up in an unhealthy household. There’s an indescribable feeling that comes along with the baggage of an imperfect childhood, one that begs the question, if you are excused for your immoral coping mechanisms because of your circumstances, or if it is your fault regardless.”
The single feels unmistakably hers, from the dramatic instrumentation and the way her vocals shift in intensity to emphasize the message to the aesthetic she has embraced to set herself apart while continuing to build her artistic identity.
