About the song, Jen said It's “about a con artist social climber who fooled me into thinking he was all about me. Mimicking my every word and gesture to win me over... and sadly it worked." In the video, Jen does a great job of conveying her anger at the blatant manipulation, and even a bit at herself for falling for his schemes. She adds "He taught me what it really meant to be loved bombed and gaslighted. Words I knew but never understood." Fortunately, she cut him out of her life immediately, turning to music to seal de deal and make a badass scar over that wound.
