Foxfrd is the "Tempest"

Since October of this year, the singer, songwriter and animator 'Foxfrd' has released three music videos animated by himself (as introverted fox inc) as part of an ongoing audiovisual project that combines his alternative indie sound with a strong semi-abstract visual narrative leaning heavily to an aesthetic trend that will be familiar to fans of certain online games.

If video games keep coming to mind when exploring the world that Foxfrd brings to life with his videos, that's by design rather than coincidence, as he began his journey as a lead 3d animator in the industry, having worked in The Game Band studio and seeing his work come to life in the Apple award-winning game "Where Cards Fall" among others. Even the beat was inspired by the mechanical click in a reloading animation for the action video game "Borderlands".

with a beat that's built entirely from scratch using the aforementioned “click”, the entirety of the "Tempest" Package feels delightfully artisanal and handcrafted, and more importantly: Entirely pure in the way it reflects the vision and sensibilities of Foxfrd.

"Tempest" is Foxfrd's latest entry in the ongoing saga that will reach its climax with an upcoming (Canonically-first) EP, set to be released in January of 2022. The song is all but explicitly a "thank you" note to all those who've stood by him in this creative undertaking, highlighting the importance of having that safety net of support. "Tempest" truly takes the gratitude to heart and it shows a great deal of emotional maturity for the growing artist on his way to success, for whom sharing that same feeling of gratitude and love has to be enshrined in his audiovisual narrative.

Foxfrd's sound is not very easy to label, though I feel like if one must, then calling him "Alt-R&B" is probably the best match for him. "Tempest" is very emotive, but also quite "level-headed", something that seems to be a staple of his music overall, as he likes to leave the flamboyance mostly to the visuals and prefers to draw the listener into a state of mutual inner contemplation. I found it very fitting that this music video should start with Foxfrd's own avatar placidly floating in the cosmos.
