Donna Lewis Releases Haunting New Message Ahead of Upcoming Album

For most people, the legendary songwriter and platinum recording artist Donna Lewis needs very little in the way of introduction, though she is perhaps best remembered by the smashing hit “I Love You Always Forever”, which has become a haunting -yet romantic- pop mainstay in playlists and airwaves all over the world since its inception in ‘96. Though it’s been a while since her last release, she’s back now and gearing up for an upcoming album to be titled “Rooms With A View.”  The album is a reflection of Lewis' recent personal journey with cancer, capturing her struggles and eventual healing.

But to make an opening statement for this upcoming LP, Donna’s newest single, “The Messenger” is here to deliver the good stuff and leave your ears wanting for more. The single features Donna Lewis' hauntingly melodic vocals and a sky-soaring chorus, which pull you in inexorably into this world where her voice is all that matters. The track also features the beat-making prowess of electronic artist and producer Holmes Ives, who brings his impactful and atmospheric trip-hop sound to the table for an intriguing and profound listening experience.

“The instrumental tracks that Holmes Ives sent me coaxed the lyrics from the pages of my journals and inspired an album of stories, unlocking fears, and the climb to a healthier me -mind, body, and spirit” – Donna explains.

The Messenger conveys her surprise and lack of invitation towards an unexpected visitor. She questions the purpose of their presence and seeks a way to make them leave so that she can regain the freedom she finds in being alone. The lyrics also touch upon the challenges of finding happiness and balance amidst the overwhelming to-do lists and self-criticism. Lewis acknowledges her ability to express her emotions honestly and release emotional patterns through meditation.

Of course, The Messenger is this cancer diagnosis that came to her as an unwanted and unexpected visitor, one that she vowed to expel from her body with the support of her family, doctors, and last but not least: Her Art.

Donna has been selected as an ambassador for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, which is recognized as the largest and most impactful breast cancer movement in the nation. We encourage you to support this worthy cause by donating today: https://www.roomswithaview.info/acs
