Not Soft Beats is focusing on you

"Music is not just an exploration into sound, it's an expression of my family, friends, and personality."

The enduring and ever-shifting field of EDM is like the gift that keeps on giving, and I think very few die-hard music fans are left ever as satisfied as those who are into electro and dance due to the veritable legion of artists both old and new who're constantly producing, DJing and Touring.

But with that 'veritable legion' of artists, how do you find directions? Where do you even start in an orderly manner to explore a genre of music that evolves and spreads so quickly? Do not fret, whether you're a long-time EDM veteran fan looking for something new, or a casual explorer, today we have an exquisite entrée curated just for you.

Music was my outlet when I was a kid. You couldn't see me anywhere without my headphones in my ears or my iPod in my hand. Before that my Disc Walkman had CDs that I had burned from my dad on repeat. I used to bring a speaker to school and play songs for people at any chance I got, I just loved sharing music with those around me.

Hailing from Canada, up-and-coming EDM producer 'Not Soft Beats' leads from the vanguard of House/Tech House manifesting catchy and fresh grooves interwoven with personal narratives that turn his danceable beats into hard-hitting emotional tales of resilience and joy. NSB's latest track is called "Focus on You", and though it is about focusing on your love for someone else, it's also possible to read "you" as yourself, as a new, higher version of 'you' that you're trying to find or build.

“When I step into the studio, I see music as an opportunity to do something that I haven't done before. Try new sounds together, and explore the unknown. It's super cliche but it's the truth. I had no idea what was gonna happen when I sat down to explore except that it was going to be fun. “- Not Soft Beats.
